Dear Friends and Colleagues

It is with great pleasure that I am writing this message because it is the culmination of many years of very hard work. The formation of EMMECF was a dream a few years ago but thanks to the cooperation of many of you has become a reality. I must express my sincere thanks to the founding members – Cyprus, Egypt, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Jordan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar & UAE – that on the 17th and 18th April 2010 came together at the Jordanian University of Science and technology (JUST) and voted unanimously to form our regional organization. The prime purpose of creating the EMMECF is to unite the profession, promote the establishment of chiropractic education and protect the interest of the patients and the profession. Our first EMMECF Congress was held on the 11th & 12th November 2011 in Limassol, Cyprus and it was a great success in spite of the tremendous political upheavals in our region (Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria, etc). The next Congress will be held in June 2012 in Beirut Lebanon in conjunctions with the Near East Spine Society (www.neareastspine.org), which I consider as a major achievement for the newly formed Federation. Recently we have made contacts with Oman and hopefully they will become a member soon. We have much to do but also much to gain if we invest some of our precious time into the development of this regional body! Kindly all of you go to our website www.emmechirofed.org and connfirm that you are on your national list; if not, do send your information to place on the website. My special thanks to Amy Bowzaylo for accepting the Communication Officer post and our thanks for the production and editing of this and future newsletters.
